Methods for the Evaluation of Vascular Reconstruction
نویسنده
چکیده
Despite carefully performed surgery, vascular defects can remain undetected within an arterial reconstruction after blood flow is restored. Failure to recognize technical errors or abnormalities can lead to vessel thrombosis and embolization. For cardiac, carotid or visceral reconstructions these events can be catastrophic. Furthermore, corrections of lesions before graft thrombosis can have a significant impact on long-term patency, being particularly important for vein grafts, because most will not maintain patency with thrombectomy alone. This review describes methods for peroperative evaluation of vascular reconstructions. Since careful selection of patients for therapy as well as proper postoperative surveillance contribute to the success of vascular surgery, some methods for preand postoperative evaluation are also

Palate Mucoperosteum: An Usefull Adjunct in Buccal Mucosa Reconstruction
Background: Palate is a complex structure separating oro- and nasopharynx. However, reconstruction of the defects of palate is much simpler because of the versatile mucoperiosteal flaps. Here, we present our experience of palatal mucoperiosteal flap used in different situations. Methods: Fifteen patients of palatal as well as buccal mucosa defects were reconstructed using either free or pedicl...
متن کاملEvaluation of the potential impact of reconstruction method on dyssynchrony parameters derived by phase analysis of gated-SPECT MPI: Comparison of two quantitative software
Introduction: Gated SPECT myocardial perfusion scanning has new capabilities in addition to its main applications such as left ventricular dyssynchrony using phase analysis. Phase analysis has been investigated through various software including Emory Cardiac Toolbox (ECTb) and Quantitative Gated SPECT (QGS). The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of reconstruction par...
متن کاملA New Approach for Quantitative Evaluation of Reconstruction Algorithms in SPECT
ABTRACT Background: In nuclear medicine, phantoms are mainly used to evaluate the overall performance of the imaging systems and practically there is no phantom exclusively designed for the evaluation of the software performance. In this study the Hoffman brain phantom was used for quantitative evaluation of reconstruction techniques. The phantom is modified to acquire t...
متن کاملOverview on Vascular Tissue Engineering: Progress and Challenges
Today, vascular diseases such as atherosclerosis are one of the leading causes of death in the world and the prevalence of it in older societies is rising. The current treatments for repair of cardiovascular function include organ transplantation, surgical reconstruction, mechanical or artificial devices, or the use of metabolic products. Although these methods are commonly used, they did not g...
متن کاملSurgical infrainguinal revascularization for peripheral arterial disease: factors affecting patency rate
Background: Peripheral arterial disease is a source of morbidity and mortality. Surgical vascular reconstruction is a treatment option but probability of failure and complications are important concerns. In this study, we evaluated outcome of surgical infrainguinal reconstruction and factors affecting graft patency for a period of one year. Methods: In this cohort study, 85 consecutive patie...

Introduction: The purpose of this study is to define the optimal parameters for the tomographic reconstruction procedure in a routine single photon emission tomography. The Hoffman brain phantom is modified to evaluate the reconstruction method. The phantom was imaged in a 3 and 2-dimensional conformation and the results were compared. Materials and Methods: The 2D phant...
